About me

Hello, I’m Ali and I care about helping your good cause make a difference through excellent marketing.

I founded Give Communications to help cause led organisations connect with the people they need to reach.

I’ve worked in marketing and communications in the voluntary and public sectors for almost 20 years, after starting out as an editor for an educational publisher.

I’ve managed and worked within in-house communications teams for brands such as Macmillan Cancer Support, The National Autistic Society and Victim Support.

And I’ve helped organisations including The British Science Association, The Children’s Trust, Solving Kids’ Cancer Europe, and Help Musicians UK – plus a number of smaller charities – as a communications consultant.

I’ve helped colleagues and clients work through lots of different challenges, and enjoyed producing some successful campaigns.

So I can draw on what I’ve learned to understand what you need.

As an experienced marketing and communications professional, I can advise you on how to get to where you want to be, coach you to do it yourself, or deliver a project for you.

I also have a strong network so can work collaboratively with other experts to deliver the outcomes you need.

The values that run through everything I do are:

  • Be proactive
  • Be organised
  • Be adaptable
  • Be collaborative
  • Listen well
  • Keep learning.

Lancashire born and bred, I live in South East London with my partner, two daughters and cat. I love the seaside, swimming, camping, coffee and trying to play the piano.

Here’s what I can offer your organisation.

With thanks to Susan Truseler for the flat lay photographs and to Azu Morales for the photographs of me!
